1st Tooth update and still more SNOW!

I was working on posting this to our blog for Friday, but never got a chance to since we were without electricity for 2 days ... so, here's the posting ... Kendall's 1st Tooth update and still more SNOW here in Dallas/Fort Worth!

Friday, February 12 ...
Okay, I think I'm officially going to call it at this point ... Kendall's first tooth is here! (And you can see the second tooth already very close to the gum's surface, too!)

I'm not sure when you officially count a first tooth as being "in" ... is it when it first cuts through the gums and you can barely feel it with your finger or is it when you can really see it sticking up, after the tooth has come in all the way? Anyway, if it's when you can feel it, then her first tooth arrived on Tuesday. And since then, the tooth has just continued to grow and grow. So, this past week, she is definitely getting her first tooth!

A SNOW update ... so we woke up yesterday (Thursday) with lots of snow everywhere and it just continued to SNOW all day long! I couldn't believe it ... ALL. DAY. LONG! There was not a moment that I looked out the windows and did not see it snowing ... it's just so beautiful! And I wanted to get all bundled up and go out & play in it! It was perfect snowman-building, snowball-throwing, snow fort-building snow ... but with a 9 month old, we just admired all the beautiful snow from our windows! (And waited and waited for Daddy to come home from work! ha! Thursdays are the days that he works in the office until 7p (at the earliest) and then gets home around 7:45p ... but because of the weather, his office closed at 5p, so he got to come home a little earlier ... yay!)

Kendall & I did venture out for a few minutes late in the afternoon ... I bundled her up in her cute little pink winter bunting coveralls (that is a size 3months and is quite snug on her, but I really didn't think we'd be needing to wear it again, until this snow hit us!) and her adorable bunny hat, so she could get a good look at all the snow and I could take a couple of pictures ... we stayed under our covered front porch, and didn't stay out for more than a few minutes ... still, she wasn't passing out any smiles ...

By Thursday late afternoon, we'd gotten a total of 9 inches snow accumulation ... it hadn't snowed like this in DFW in 130 years ... yes, that's right ... one hundred thirty years! It was record breaking for the most snow accumulation in a 24 hour period!

As soon as Daddy got home, we got bundled up again before it got too dark ... and, yes, even Cassie came outside ... she really LOVES the snow ...

Cassie loves to romp around in the snow ... this time, it was a lot deeper than she'd ever been in before! This dog will play fetch and Frisbee no matter what the weather conditions are! She was running around our snow-perfect front yard so fast, I could hardly get a picture without it looking like a giant black furry blur!

Kendall kept looking at Ash's San Francisco 49ers "tuke" (as he calls it ... having grown up in Canada) ... she's probably wondering why he was still a fan of the 49ers in this Dallas Cowboys-land! (Don't worry Kendall, Mommy wonders the same thing!)

And the next historic moment of Kendall's "first"s will be the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Daddy's hometown)! The Opening Ceremony will be tomorrow evening and we can't hardly wait! We LOVE the Olympics! And, having them in Vancouver this year just makes it extra special for us! GO Team USA and CANADA!
