our girl in pig tails

Kendall's hair is just growing & growing ... and I'm LOVIN' it, I cannot deny! Over the last several months we've gotten to the point that her hair is past the bangs-stage, covering her eyes, so it has to be pulled back or else it is in her face ...  I normally have it pulled up on top (what I like to call the "pebbles look" from old The Flintstones cartoon) ... but today we tried pig tails (or some people call them "dog ears") ... regardless of what you call it, we thought it was pretty cute, although I think it does make her look older!

I never get tired of dressing this girl ... whether it's dressing her up, or dressing her in a casual outfit, I love it!  And she is becoming quite a girly-girl herself ... she just started saying the word "bow" ... and if she sees a bow lying out somewhere or at a store, she says bow & touches the top of her head to reach her bow ... or she'll try to put the bow on herself, or her baby doll and says "boooowwww" in her little southern accent!  There are times when she isn't wearing a bow (I know you may be shocked by that, but it is very true!) and if she's noticed it, she is a bit concerned about it, saying "bow? bow?" & patting the top of her head.  Even after I've reassured her that it's okay & tell her that we forgot it, or left it at home, or just aren't wearing one right now, she'll still bring it back up later ... like she has not forgotten.  She is hilarious ... busy, busy, busy ... & is growing into having quite a little personality!

Here's our 17 month old (14 months adjusted age) cutie-pie in our pre-school shirts today ... with pig tails ...

I double HEART this girl that God gave me!

our 1st day of pre-school

Today was Kendall's 1st day of pre-school ... and it was my 1st day teaching the 3's class at her pre-school.

Originally, I had not intended for Kendall to attend a pre-school until she was 2 (so next school year) and would be in the 2's class ... but this opportunity presented itself and after praying about it, we decided to do it this year.  It's a small pre-school ... she's in the nursery class this year ... it's 2 days a week ... and I know all of the teachers & the director, since it's where I taught several years ago.  I've been preparing myself for the transition ... for her to be away from me and for me to be away from her ... even though we are in the same building, just a few doors away from each other, it will an adjustment for both of us, but I think in the long run this school year will be a good thing for us.

Here are a couple of pictures just before leaving for our 1st day of pre-school ...

meet the teacher

really, it was meet the teacher for Kendall and meet the class for myself!  Only a few days left before our little pre-school is in session and tonight, we had our "Meet the Teacher" night.

While I was getting to meet all of my new 3 year old students & their parents, Ash took Kendall to meet her teacher and she made her very 1st pre-school craft ... Kendall's teacher is Miss Dee ... she is a sweet grandmother who LOVES the little ones so I know once Kendall gets over the separation from me she will have a great time in class with Miss Dee!
