Snapshots of this past week

Gettin' around ... Standin' up ... and Playin' ... well, she's not quite crawling all the way yet, but she is gettin' around quite a bit now. She hasn't explored too much outside of our large living room rug, but she is moving more and more, especially over this past week ... yeah, Kendall! She's been trying to get herself back into a sitting position after lying on her tummy for a few days and now she's totally got it down. She loves to sit up, get down to all 4's, take 2 crawls toward the toy, then collapse back to her tummy and reach, reach, reach ... If she'd just do 1 more crawl-step (I'm not really sure of the technical term I'm looking for here), I think she'd be off crawling ... but this is how far she's come thus far. (We've been practicing with her, helping her crawl back and forth between us ... it's just getting the leg coordination down that she's working on.) She moves herself around the rug, facing totally different directions in a matter of seconds as she backwards crawls and gets herself back into a sitting position. (I'm not in any real rush for her to start crawling ... I know that once it happens she'll be into everything so fast, I'll never get anything done ... ha!) She found the coffee table ... and loves pulling up to it and pulling everything on top off (which happened to be her toys). (I think my days of leaving things on the coffee table are over ... that should help with clutter ... hopefully.)

She loves her new V-Tech walker that I got at the JBF Sale ... we're not using it as a walker yet, of course, but she loves pulling up to it and playing the piano on it and all the other fun toys on it ... it's actually quite an entertaining toy for her and me.

LOVE. THIS. GIRL! She still loves to put anything she possibly can into her mouth ... still teething ... and still working on a 3rd tooth!

Sittin' up in her crib ... on Friday, Daddy walked into her nursery to get her up from her nap to find her sitting up and being so proud of herself! (I had to grab the camera as soon as he yelled for me.) I'm kinda scared what this new development will mean for future nap-times ...

Happy. Girl.

Our Saturday ... we had a busy weekend of fun ... Daddy's 1st soccer game, yard work, Kendall's swing, trips to Home Depot & Lowes, Saturday evening service, and time with "Auntie Christi"! We got lots of work done around our house starting as soon as Daddy came home from work on Friday! We've got several little (and a few big) projects that we're trying to complete before our busy May and June hit us.
This Saturday officially started Daddy's soccer season with Upwards ... this year he is coaching the 3rd and 4th grade boys ... they've had a couple of practices and Saturday was their 1st game ... and Kendall & I came out to cheer on Coach Daddy & his team! They did good (you never know what to really expect out of a first game each season!) ... and won the game 2-1 (not that Upwards keeps score, but the Coach does ... ha! ... but he doesn't tell the kids). Kendall did g-g-great through the entire game ... it was really nice weather, but very windy, which made it a bit chilly on the soccer field. She enjoyed being held by Leesa, playing with toys in her stroller, eating some oatmeal & fruit, watching Daddy move up and down the field and all the action of the boys running and kicking the ball right in front of us ... we had front row mid-field seats (thanks to the Rocha family who got there early and saved us all seats!)
Daddy with his sweet girl! LOVE. these. 2!
Kendall loves hats ... not for her to wear, but when others wear them and she can pull & bite them! Oh the joys of teething!

My little sweetie ... loves her swing that the Easter Bunny left for her at our house ... and this weekend (after 2 trips to Home Depot), we got everything we needed to hang it (thank you, Daddy!) ... and we've been enjoying it every day since!
just a swingin' ... and she's got plenty of room to grow in it!
yard work and planting flowers ... this weekend was "all hands on deck" as all 3 of us got to spend some time outside working in our yard and planting flowers. Kendall (mostly) enjoyed her time outside under our front covered porch playing in her exersaucer. We really have been enjoying this beautiful weather and trying to take advantage of it as much as possible. I do love our yard especially in the spring & summer, but it's a lot of work ... but it's worth it! (Thanks to Daddy who does at least 95% of it now with Kendall here!) Stay tuned for better pictures of our yard once it's ready ...

Christi came over for some girl time on Saturday evening ... we went to RHCC's evening service and out for dinner at Chili's. She spent the night with us ... and then she & I drove to Abilene for a day trip on Sunday for my sister's baby shower for Tucker. Kendall & Daddy spent the whole day together ... 9am-9p ... and they loved it! (More on their time together and the baby shower in the next post.)
