Happy Kendall's 1st Easter

Happy Easter! It was Kendall's 1st Easter and we had a wonderful day celebrating it in Abilene!

First, Kendall woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had left her some treats in her Easter basket ... she used Mommy's old Easter basket that I had all growing up (that's now nearly 30 years old ... wowzers!). She got a chocolate bunny (I think that was more for tradition's sake ... and for her parents to enjoy!), some "touch and feel" books, a ladybug vehicle, and a bunny & a duck from The March of Dimes ... and a new swing for outside (which the Easter Bunny left at our house, for Daddy to put up for us). She got excited when she saw her basket and wouldn't take her eyes off of it ...

Kendall's Easter dress & accessories are from her Huni (and GranGran, too) ... Huni and I were clothes shopping for the rest of Kendall's Christmas gifts from them (as we celebrated Christmas with them a few days after Christmas this year) ... both of us saw the Easter display (already up on Dec. 30!) of several darling dresses, but we both loved this one ... Kendall wears a lot of pink (I do love pink and she doesn't protest!), so this lavender dress (purple is Huni's favorite color) was a nice addition to her wardrobe. Plus, I love that there is a sweet little sweater & hat that coordinates with her dress ... layers always gives you more options, especially for Easter ... you never know what the weather will be like from one minute to the next in March & April. Her dress was perfect for this Easter ... in the morning she wore her sweater and by the afternoon, she was down to just her dress. Thank you, Huni and GranGran!

After a wonderful worship service at Southern Hills, we skyped with Auntie E (my sister who lives in FL and will be here to visit in May!), had dinner at my parents' and then we went over to my MawMaw's house for the big Egg Hunt!

Mason helping "Uncle Ashie" get connected with Auntie E on Skype ... even Cassie came over to offer her help! Mason just loves his Ashie and thinks Ashie can (and will) do just about everything ... we often hear "Ashie do it" or "Ashie fix it" ... in a very confident, don't worry, Ashie-can attitude!

Aunt Rach with her cutie-patootie niece (okay, I admit I'm a bit partial!)

Mason hugging "Cassie-dog" as he calls her ... this boy could not get enough of this dog this weekend ... and it was sooo cute! He was so sweet to her, giving her tons of attention, hugs and playtime ... and she loved every minute of it! I love that Cassie is sooo big and he is not afraid of her one bit!

Oh, these precious little feet ... don't you wanna just eat'em up?!?! She LOVES to take off her socks & shoes and cross her little feet ... ANY chance that she can get! And, on our LONG car ride from my parents' house to MawMaw's house (which is literally all of 3 minutes away), she fell asleep (I mean ... totally out!) and Ash drove her around the block several times to keep her asleep, while Rae & I got the eggs hidden for the big egg hunt!

Let the Egg Hunt begin ...

Kendall and her first egg! (We were trying to get a picture like we have of me and my Grandfather holding me up to get an egg out of a tree, but Kendall was too fast!) Pops took Kendall around the yard for us so Ash could video everything and I could take pictures on our camera.

Happy Easter from my family to yours!

Rae & Mason ... enjoying the goodies found inside his eggs
Kendall with her great-grandmother, MawMaw and grandmother, Grams

the Perkins ... Uncle Mike, Mason, Aunt Rach ... and baby Tucker Alan!

Happy Easter ... from West Texas ... with the wind and all!

Hope you had a wonderful Easter as well ... celebrating the meaning of Easter ... that Jesus died on the cross for ALL our sins so we can have Eternal Life with HIM in Heaven ... and He rose again on the 3rd day!
