We spent Kendall's 1st birthday weekend in Abilene with my family ...
It was a fast, but fun weekend ... celebrating Kendall's birthday (May 1st) on Saturday, and celebrating my mom's "Grams" birthday (May 4th) & Mother's Day for her on Sunday ... it was definitely a weekend of celebrating! (We normally go to Abilene to celebrate my Mom's bday and Mother's Day in one weekend since they are usually within a week of each other. And this year, my sister "Aunt Rach" is major preggers (yeah!) with sweet baby Tucker, who is due at the end of May, so she isn't able to travel to our house for Kendall's big birthday bash (May 22nd), so we just thought we'd just celebrate everything in one weekend in Abilene!) Before we left for Abilene on Saturday, Kendall & I cheered on Daddy & his soccer team he coaches ... our 2nd game of the season ... and then it was time to parrrr-ttaaeee!
Once we got to Abilene, we had to pick up a few party essentials (i.e. ice cream, cupcakes, balloons & pizza!) ... but we got it all done & were dressed for her party just as the first guest arrived! I had mailed out these little invitations to our family in Abilene (these invites aren't anything fancy, but I did make them and the coordinating thank you cards, too (I had found the verbiage on the Internet a while ago & it was fun getting out my scrapbooking stuff to make everything!) ... the other invites for her party at our house will be much cuter!)
Our party guests included my parents "Grams" & "Pops" (it was at their home), my sister & bro-in-law and nephew (Aunt Rach, Uncle Mike & Mason), my grandmother "MawMaw", my great-aunt (Shanny), my great-uncle & great-aunt (Harry & Sarah), Daddy & me, and our adorable guest of honor, Little Miss Birthday Girl herself! We decided to have a little pizza party (instead of cooking due to a severe lack of time available and since Kendall wasn't eating any of it anyway) ... and vanilla & chocolate cupcakes with hot pink, lime green & teal frosting & sprinkles, Blue Bell homestyle vanilla ice cream & fruit for dessert.
Picture Alert ... there are a few (hundred ... ha!) pictures of our fun time together ...
Time to open presents ... Kendall did great with the present opening ... she sat in my lap & enjoyed ripping the paper, eating the paper & eating her gifts ...
gifts from Aunt Rach & Uncle Mike and Mason ... someone knows how much we LOVE books around here! They also got Kendall a small ladybug softplay book, a sprinkler mat (which we'll be putting to good use soon!) and the walker toy that is below ...
opening up her gift bag from us ... inside was a new Melissa & Doug wooden puzzle, a Carters 9 months white shrug sweater, a Fisher Price flip cell phone, a pink swimming suit and the Disney Princess 4-in-1 rocker/ride vehicle ...
The birthday outfit Kendall is wearing is courtesy of her little friend, Brooke Adams (as Kendall's outfit did not arrive in time for this party) ... thank you Deanna for letting us borrow Brooke's! Thank You to my parents who's home we bombarded once again for the weekend and for having everyone over for Kendall's party. And a big thank you to my sister, Rachel for having everyone over & cooking for Mom's celebration on Sunday (while she's 36 weeks pregnant and will probably be delivering within the next 2 weeks)!
Thank you so much for sharing this very special time!
ReplyDeleteTake care and God bless.
