and we're WALKing!

I have to interrupt our Vancouver-vacation-posting-series with this important announcement:
Kendall is WALKing!

Woo Hoo, Little Miss!

I'm not exactly sure when you can officially say that your child is walking ... but we're callin' it!  It's so exciting to see new developments in her and this is a big one ... that has forever changed our role as parent ... as she is everywhere ... fast!  Here's what's been going on leading her up to this point:

the week of June 14 (11 months 1 day old adjusted age) ... Kendall started taking 2-3 steps (and by the end of the week, I saw her take 5 steps once) consecutively ... LOVES to walk as we hold onto her hands and is getting more & more balanced the more she practices.

the weeks of June 23 - July 2 (11.5 months adjusted age) ... Kendall got a lot of practice walking having someone (ie Hannah & Sadie) hold her hands while we were in Vancouver, BC with the Rogers family ... still taking 2-3 steps consecutively several times a day.

July 3 (11.5 months old adjusted age) ... we flew back to DFW today & as soon as Kendall got to our living room floor, she walked 15 steps consecutively across the room, completely on her own (and with no coaxing)!

the week of July 4-9 (11.5 months old adjusted age) ... Kendall is really walking a lot more each day ... very balanced & walks to get from here-to-there ... still turbo-crawling if it's a long way to go, but walking constantly for small areas.

July 10 ... 11 months 3 weeks old adjusted age (nearly 14.5 months old birth age) ... Kendall is WALKing!

We've also taken some video that I'm needing Ash to help me with ... so hopefully I'll have that posted very soon!  We love seeing Kendall's growth & development ... and LOVE her hilarious "Frankenstein" walk (with her arms in front of her & her legs stepping from side to side) ... we know she will master walking soon enough, so we don't want to forget this adorable stage that she's in right now!

Way to go, Kendall!  Mommy & Daddy are sooo proud of you, sweet girl!
