Rangers on a whim ... and a win!

Friday at 5p last night, I got a call from Christi asking if we'd like to join her at the 7:05p Rangers baseball game ... and we said YES! (Her brother & fam got sick so they had 3 extra tickets!)  Since we had no hot date planned for our big Friday night, this was definitely a fun way to spend the evening ...

We got our stuff together quickly ... Rangers gear, Kendall's snacks, lots of water, Kendall's huge foam #1 finger ... and headed out to the ballpark.  We had awesome seats (nearly had 1 ball caught that landed in the hall you can see in the picture below, seriously, ask Ash! & 3 others that came near our section) ... watched a fun 13 run (by the Rangers) baseball game (that's a lot of hitting, running & cheering in a game) ... enjoyed a cooler summer evening ... got to catch up with sweet old friends ... and watched a great fireworks show after the game ... with 36,700+ of our newest Rangers friends ... it was a fun family night!

Carol "Noni" (Christi's mom) and Christi
Jon (Christi's dad) was also there, but he was getting food
when I was taking pictures, so I missed him.

We treated ourselves to a Lemon Chill ... this is one thing that I would get at a ball game when I was younger ... this was Kendall 1st Lemon Chill experience and she loved it!  This girl looks like her Daddy but she's got some of me inside her, somewhere!

Rangers beat the Oakland Athletics ("the A's") ... 13 to 4 ... Colby Lewis (the Rangers' #2 pitcher) pitched an outstanding game. We loved all the scoring action by the Rangers ... Kendall loves to cheer & chant with the crowd throughout the game, and this game was full of that!   She had a great time at the game ... sitting in her own chair or on our laps ... actually watching the game & telling us about what she was watching.  It's funny, she really does understand a lot of the game, especially the fundamentals, even at 2 ... she'll tell you:  "Goooooo Rangers!" (complete with her arm & fist pump!) ...  "baseball.  throw it. hit it. run! run! run! fall down (slide)." (She'll tell you all about football too, if you ask her.  Someone likes to hang out with her Daddy!)  After the game, the Rangers threw a great FIREWORKS show.  It was really late, but Kendall stayed wide awake to watch it ... her most favorite part of the whole night!  (This girl only brings up the topic of fireworks about twice a week (since July 4th) ... she'll ask or tell me, Ashley & complete strangers we see while we are out & about all about the fireworks & how she wants to see more!  She loves fireworks and we were so happy we could accommodate her request of "more fireworks up high in sky" before the next July 4th!)

Thank you Norris fam for a fun family Friday night out!  Gooooo Rangers!
