pumpkin pickin' 2010

We enjoyed our 2nd annual pumpkin pickin' outing at Hall's Pumpkin Farm in Colleyville ... a fun little Friday night family date night! We really had a fabulous time checking out all the things to do & see there ... and Kendall really enjoyed herself this year, as we hoped she would!

I found this pumpkin farm last year so we took Kendall there for her 1st pumpkin patch experience last October ... that day happened to be a bit chilly & windy, so for our little baby, she was freezing even all bundled up and we stayed about 10 minutes ... took a grand total of 3 pictures before leaving ... not exactly my expectations for our 1st pumpkin patch experience for us, to say the least!

Here's Kendall last October ...

And here we are a year later!  Unlike last year's experience, we had a great time Friday night, took a ton of pictures, got to enjoy all the fun events they have there, including a hayride, petting some farm animals, feeding donkeys & cows, and bought pumpkins ... a great pumpkin outing this year!

First stop was getting ourselves a little red wagon ... I'm sure these are there for the pumpkin pickin' but our little pumpkin enjoyed riding in the wagon, as well!  (She also really enjoyed walking along the wagon and pushing it!)  And we did put some pumpkins in there eventually.

After checking out a few of the pumpkin patches, we came to the tractor track ... and since Kendall was just the right height, she enjoyed her 1st push tractor ride ... with Daddy's help, of course!

And then we were off to see more pumpkins & take more pictures ... she was in a great mood and loved running around, exploring all the different shapes & sizes of the pumpkins ... and finding the best ones to sit on!  ("Sit" is a new favorite word & verb these days ... she tries to sit on anything that is 1 inch above the ground ... always with a big sigh once she's plopped down and usually a little laugh or smile, as she's so proud of herself ... LOVE this girl!)

not attempt this year ... maybe in a few years!

that was just the size for her ... for $ 0.50!

After checking out all the pumpkin patches around the farm, the house made out of hay, the old Chevy truck & old tractors to climb on, the swing set playground, the cutout cowboy & cowgirl, the corn maze, we made our way over to check out the farm animals ... Kendall LOVES animals & their sounds they make, so she LOVED petting the pigs, chickens & goats!

Then it was time for Kendall's 1st hayride ... and we bought our tickets just in time ... we got the last 2 tickets for the 6:30 ride (the next ride was at 7:30 and we would not have been able to last that long).  During the hayride, we made 2 different stops to feed some animals ... we fed the donkeys & then the cows ... it was all of our 1st time to feed donkeys & cows!

We bought 2 tickets for the hayride for $4 total ... Kendall was free!

we fed the cows bread ... and I would be totally fine if that was the last
time I ever fed a cow ... they get it with their gigantic black long tongues,
so it can be a slimy wet experience if you aren't careful!

Happy Fall from our sweet little pumpkin!
