helloooo World Series!

Last night, Ash & I (and Kendall, well, at least through the 5th inning before going to bed) witnessed Major League Baseball history!

The Texas Rangers WON the American League Championship against the New York Yankees last night by winning the 6th game in the series ... they lost game 1, won games 2, 3 & 4, lost game 5 ... the ALC Series at 3-2 Rangers ... but then they won game 6 last night at home, in Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (aka "the ballpark in Arlington") ... and the team & 51,000+ fans in the stands went crazy with excitement!

Now, these Texas Rangers will play in the World Series ... for the 1st time EVER!  Seriously, this is the 1st time since they became a franchise in 1961 & then came to Texas to be the Texas Rangers in 1972 that they have ever ...
won more than 1 post-season game
won their Division Series
won the American League Championship
and will now play in the World Series ... for a shot at being World Champions!

And to think that these same Texas Rangers were going bankrupt earlier this year ... until Nolan Ryan & Chuck Greenberg bought them in August in an auction ... and now could be World Champions after 1 more series of games against the San Francisco Giants ... what a crazy season!

We aren't really that into baseball (if you compare that to ALL the other sports that are followed, discussed & watched by this Rogers family each year) ... baseball can been a bit slow or even boring at times, especially on TV ... we've been to several Rangers games throughout the past 10 years ... but this year has definitely been different.  Ash has followed them nearly all season ... and once the Rangers made it to the Division series against Tampa Bay, I jumped on the Texas Rangers band-wagon, too!  I mean, it's really hard not to when you've got Ashley telling you all kinds of history-making stats, life-changing stories & news all the time (which he knows I'm a total sucker for!) ... and he's watching the games on TV ... and it's being covered all over the media ... everyone is cheering them on ... so I had to join in on the fun!  We've enjoyed watching the Division series & Championship series on TV ... and can't wait to see them in the World Series!

So, today we showed our Texas Rangers pride and wore the Rangers apparel that we had ... as did most of DFW, that we saw while we were out & about today!  One of our 1st stops was to a little sports/outdoors store called Academy, so we could get a little shirt for Kendall ... come'on folks, this IS a historic moment that she is witnessing here & she cheers them on too ... with her pom-poms, as well!  Wowzers, was it crazy in that store ... I think most of Grapevine, TX was all in Academy at the same time we were, looking at the same merchandise that we were!

picking out tshirts ... even Kendall got in on the action!

checking out the foam finger hand ... Go Rangers!

the baby section ... there were 2 cute options for
Kendall in her size & she picked the cutest one!

After searching through the many options of tshirts & other paraphernalia, we found shirts for all 3 of us ... Ash & I got different "Josh Hamilton" shirts (my FAVORITE player & one of Ash's favorites as well) and we found a cute little pink "Michael Young" shirt for Kendall.  There was really slim pickin's for her department, and especially her size, so we were just really glad we were able to find something ... no Josh Hamilton in her department (meaning, no Josh Hamiliton ones left!), but there was one Michael Young shirt so we snatched it up!  Michael Young has been with the Rangers for 10 years now, since he was drafted, and he is an integral part of this team!

my 2 favorite Rangers fans sporting their new shirts ...
Mr. Texas & Little Miss Rangers

somebody LOOOOOOVES her Daddy!

My favorite ... Josh Hamilton ... #32 ... the Texas Rangers Center outfielder & power hitter ... the MVP of the American League ... a husband & a father to girls ... and most importantly, a Christian!  He's got an incredible story that he shares of his conversion & God bringing him through drug addiction & alcoholism ... giving all the Glory to our God!  (Just a side note here, but the team respects him so much that they've celebrated on the field with ginger ale, instead of the traditional champagne, when they won the Division series and the Championship series ... and I think that is pretty awesome!)  You can hear his testimony on I AM SECOND.com by clicking on this link ... go check it out!

this girl LOVES to watch sports with her Daddy ...
which I don't think bothers her Daddy one bit!
She enjoys her time in the best seat in the house!
(She's actually sick with fever & congestion
and we're going back to the doctor to see if she's
got ear infections again on Monday ... poor girl!)
On Wednesday, you can be assured we'll all be wearing our Texas Rangers shirts to cheer them on for Game 1 of the World Series against the San Fransisco Giants!   Gooooooo Rangers!
