Tonight we experienced our 1st Fall Carnival at Gateway church … and it was a hit with our family! It will be a fun tradition we are adding to our fall events to continue each year. My co-teacher, Mrs. Darlene, attends Gateway and had told me about this huge event and it did not disappoint! I got Kendall dressed up in her Halloween costume “Minnie Mouse” (the ears were quickly removed because Little Miss said “these ears are hurting my ears!) and we met up with Daddy at the Dragon stadium … we rode on a free charter bus over to the carnival (to earn free admission inside) … and met a couple thousand of our newest friends. It was crowded but because it was so huge and so well organized & staffed, it was fine and we never wasted much time in lines.
They had booth after booth set up … of food vendors (Dickey’s bbq, Papa Johns pizza, Chick Fil A and many others) {the only cost involved}, carnival games, rides, every bounce house/slide/rock wall you can imagine, a petting zoo, pony rides and candy prizes … it was all out and so much fun! Kendall rode her 1st carnival/fair ride … the little red cars.
On our way out, we saw the Disney characters of Beauty & the Beast ... one of Kendall's favorites! We had to stop and say Hi to all of them ... (normal) Belle and Princess Belle were both soooo sweet and complimentary to Kendall. She was a little cautious at first but quickly warmed up, especially after she admired Princess Belle's fancy dress and touched it. They asked if they could take a picture with her ... and she said yes! (A bit for the future, but I couldn't help but think about how much she is going to love Disney World when we take her ... I can hardly wait!)
As we were waiting for the charter bus to pick us back up, we checked out the Southlake Firetruck ... Kendall loved seeing the big truck and even sat inside of it ... our 1st time in a firetruck.
A great fall night for our family!
