Friday morning, Kendall & I made a quick trip into Abilene to see Pops (my dad)! He has been out of town doing insurance adjusting since just before Easter, so it’s been a long 6 months since we’d seen him. This was a happy reunion for all of us!
Kendall loves spending time with Pops and Grams. She felt right at home in Grams' kitchen and helped herself to the step ladder so she could "help Grams" in the kitchen. Apparently she was on the step ladder a lot, helping out Grams in the kitchen, while she was there & we were in Hawaii. (She was a little leary heading into Abilene this time though and wanted Mommy to stay with her, since it was only a couple of weeks earlier, we had left her there. Once I reassured her and continued to reassure her that I was not going to leave her, she was thrilled to visit Abilene again! Sweet Girl! Hopefully she's not scarred for life!)
While we were in town, we had to visit a favorite family attraction … the big Abilene Zoo! We loved spending the time with Grams & Pops, Aunt Rachel, Mason and Tucker! (Kendall had to keep asking about where Uncle Mike was ... this girl looooves herself some Uncle Mike! And he is soooo sweet with her ... she knows she is special to him! He was in Dallas at flight school for a few weeks to learn all about their new huge airplane. She was sooo happy to hear that she was going to see him later on that day at the pumpkin farm. More on that in the next post.)
Although this Abilene zoo is a bit small, there is plenty of fun to be had by our family! You can easily see all the animals within an hour or stay as long as you'd like! There are also 2 main attractions at the zoo for our family ... the choo-choo train, which is a must-ride if you ask any of these 3 cousins!
The 2nd big attraction at this zoo for our family ... feeding the 2 giraffes! And although it is a bit of a slimy job, these 3 cousins LOVE it! And I haven't heard these 2 giraffes complain about it, either!
After we visited the zoo, Kendall & Mommy had to say good-bye to Pops and Grams and start our road trip back home to Daddy. Aunt Rachel and the boys were right behind us ... next event: Hall's Pumpkin Farm and a farm hay ride!
