it's a snow day

Today ... February 1st ... Kendall is 21 months old today!  And as a special treat, we woke this morning to find a beautiful white blanket of snow covered everything outside ... I just LOVE snow ... this is our 1st snow of 2011 ... Daddy's work closed down & our preschool closed & everything else was closed due to the snow, ice & sleet, so we enjoyed our snow day together at home! We had several snow days last year, but this is Kendall's 1st snow day where she got to explore & check it out on her own ... she loved it and did NOT want to come back inside, even though she was freezing and her little nose was bright red!

We got all bundled up ... it was 15 degrees outside ... and since it was just 63 degrees the day before, that was quite a change in temperature ... gotta love Texas weather! Kendall wore her mittens (and left them on) for the 1st time ... she was not too happy about it at first, but she did decide it was better to have them on! So, out we went ... to brave the cold and play in the snow ...

getting her 1st look & taking her 1st steps in snow

happy snow girl!

checking out the snow that was on her boots ...
she was quite concerned it wasn't coming off!
She may look exactly like her Daddy, but she's
got at least a little of her Mommy in her!

Cassie was NOT to be left out of our family adventure out in the snow!

She really wanted to swing "wweee-wweee" ... but found herself all
bundled up to be a little challenging ... ha!

It's not warmed up past 18 degrees all day today ... the roads are still really bad out ... nearly all the school districts have already announced they will be closed again tomorrow ... so we're gearing up for another day inside!
Happy 21 months old, Kendall Grace! These have been the best 21 months of our lives!

  1. What great memories! We got some more snow early this morning. This is the 4th day of no school. Wow! They were out a few weeks ago too when it snowed. We are about to go out in it to play.
